Shop
Sometimes the best place to shop is in your friend's closet. We all buy things that seemed like a good idea at the time but then we never wear them. My grandpa always says it's better to have a small purse full of money than a big, empty one. Well I've got lots and lots of big empty purses and no cash, so I decided to go through my closet and get rid of the unwanted.
A few times a year I usually clean out my room and I give away the clothes I don't wear anymore. There are always a few things that just seem to linger. The clothes that I paid too much for to just give away, and the ones that still have the tags on them. I have kept these items for too long and now I can barely shut my drawers!
It started off as a Saturday morning project to get rid of a few dresses and purses I have never used. I started taking pictures of the clothes and posting them on Facebook. With in minutes I had friends commenting saying that they want to buy my clothes! So I went through everything. The shoes, purses, tops, dresses, and jeans. I priced them out around $10 or $20 depending on whether or not I wore them.
It felt so good to know that the clothes I loved, but didn't love wearing, were finally going to be put to use! I tried to sell them on Kijiji, but the idea of meeting up with strangers made me decide to keep the sale to Facebook.
I posted around 100 items (who knew I had so much in my closet!) and I've sold probably 30 items in 1 week. My room is finally clean and now I have money to buy clothes that actually fit and that I will want to wear!
So go through your closet and get rid of your old clothes. You will feel so much better when it is not overstuffed!
